Vintage Val Kilmer

by M. Lizabeth Currain

Well, it’s Sunday again folks and I think you know what that means: time for another edition of Vintage Crush. This week I am presenting you with Val Kilmer!

That pose is amazing.

Why is Val Kilmer this week’s Vintage Crush? Um…did you see Top Gun?  If not, let me refresh your memory:

Highway to the danger zone my friends.

That right there, is reason enough ladies and gentlemen.

I would say that the first movie that I saw with Val Kilmer was Willow. I’m not really sure how old I was when I saw it, but I can definitely tell you that I had a crush on Madmartigan in a major way. He was sporting some chiseled good looks in that movie. Also, he’s a guy with a tough exterior, but ends up being sweet; as women, I think we’re wired in finding that attractive for some reason. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, I’m just saying it’s definitely a thing that happens. And his bare chest. That helped a lot too.

Madmartigan!

Also, Real Genius. I mean come on, look at this guy!

Why didn’t I know boys who looked like this? Life is unfair.

Some basics according to IMDB:

Full Name: Val Edward Kilmer

Born: December 31, 1959 in Los Angeles, California, USA

Height: 6″!!  A man after my own heart!

Films/Television: 81

Awards: Well, he’s been nominated for three Razzie awards. One for Worst Supporting Actor for The Island of Dr. Moreau. It’s been a while since I’ve see it, but I don’t remember him being that bad in it. He was also nominated twice for Most Desirable Male at the MTV Movie Awards. Which, obviously, he should have won.

…and only if I had a time machine. Never mind, I wouldn’t completely rule it out. ‘Cause I’m gross. Also, I would just make him say this over and over again…

Why do I have a vintage crush on him? Obviously, I’m shallow and have a thing for pretty boys with great teeth. It’s not like there’s a complicated vetting process for choosing these guys each week.

After looking at his IMDB page, it looks like he’s got a lot projects in the works. Good for him! It’s great when an obviously talented actor is able to get the recognition he deserves. Also, it will probably help him out, if he ever has future IRS troubles.

I leave you with this as my final thought on the issue:

Can I get an Amen?

Also, that was a lie:

I am currently on a bus back to NYC…I love you all so much that I was willing to creep some passengers out looking at shirtless Val Kilmer pictures.

Have a great Monday everyone!
